Position:Botanica Certified Massage Therapist
Moriah came to Colorado from Los Angeles a year and a half ago to pursue a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle. The beautiful nature, healthy approach to life and abundance of athletes and active people looking to maintain their health through bodywork made the move both promising and safe. Colorado did not disappoint and her work with Sport’s training specialists enhanced her deep tissue work and helped her understand the special needs of athletes. She received her initial massage training certificate at Hands on Healing in La Crescenta, CA in 2002. Most of the first five years of her experience happened in medical settings such as hospitals, chiropractic and physical therapy offices. During this time she received extensive training in the Myofascial Release Technique and began working with many clients suffering from Fibromyalgia. This work prompted her to go back to school to study Kinesiology with a Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise emphasis to learn more about how to help people with advanced conditions. During her time in school, she developed a basic massage training program for the Kinesiology students. For several years after graduating, she taught Kinesiology students both the Eastern approach to healing as well as basic Swedish massage techniques. She also did research on massage and alternative methods of healing.
